What’s wrong with outsourcing?
Well, there’s nothing wrong with it.
First of all, it saves money.
Second, it provides jobs to the 4th class - to the people who lived in card board houses until yesterday, and today are highly respected.. call center operators.
Third, it’s helping the poor countries improving their economy.
…
But hey, maybe there is something wrong after all?
I’ll tell you what’s wrong.
It’s not the money. Surprisingly, it’s all about… economy!
WAKE UP!
There is no time to lose. You are digging your own grave by firing your people in hard times and outsourcing their jobs abroad. Because instead of thinking of a solution, you bury your head in the sand. Instead of thinking how to increase your income, you decrease your salary expenses. Now, as we all know, a worker generally should produce 3 times more than is spent on him. So, if your worker is not producing that much, it is either his laziness or your stupidness. Probably the second, as if it was the first one and not the second, you would’ve found a way to motivate him or fire him.
Innovate. Look around you. If you have to, take a 2 week vacation and go to the mountains. Try to live with the nature. Try to find the way our universe is built - how it produces new stuff, how it evolves and outgrows hard times… you might find it hard, especially if you are all about 21th century science (money money money), but at least try to live and THINK outside of your cubicle or your 6×6 feet cage(khuh)… office!
Return to your company. Look at the products and services you offer. Think more about making people happy, making their life easier and not necessarily robbing them for it. Think how you might change the world for good.
Do not disappoint your employees. Think in terms of .. tribes. Your company is a tribe. You can’t just kill half your tribe, because the situation is getting hot?! If you have to, you get all the men in the tribe, and go to war! Yes, WAR! Economical one! Don’t hide! Don’t run! Fight for your market share! I mean, create products so nice, that your competitors in India or China would bite their heels of jealousy!
Do not outsource it. By outsourcing it, you’re actually taking all your education, all your parent’s investments and investing them in another country’s economy.
Country, which tomorrow might hire your son as a call center operator.
